Shabby Chic First Birthday

First birthday’s are so sweet! The little birthday princess all dressed up in her birthday dress and ready to smash that cake!

First birthdays here in Italy are also a REALLY big deal! People like to go all out and the party tends to be pretty big and festive, with lots of family and friends.

This little princess’ name is Amira, which means princess in Arabic. Her Mom wanted something sweet and princess-y, but a little different than the usual princess attire. This shabby chic theme was the perfect fit. A little bit of frilly lace and ribbon, mixed with burlap. If you are looking for ideas for a shabby chic birthday, then I hope you find a little bit of inspiration here!

One of my favorite part of parties, are the little details… water bottle labels, adorable straws, utensil holders that fit with the theme, serving plates that coordinate with the colors, and party favors that people love and that match the theme.

You don’t have to have a giant budget to create something beautiful! The Mamma of this birthday girl wanted to spend a small amount on the cake table. With under $50, I was able to create a pretty backdrop, favors, and order all of the paper products. It was simple, but pretty and sweet.

For this sweet party we ordered these shabby chic favor boxes from Amazon and filled them with potpourri. I made a personalized sticker for each box that said, Princess Amira. The burlap table runner added the perfect contrast to all the pink and frilly! I made the table runner, and the sweet little jars with burlap and lace.

Every princess needs her pearls! This little tea pot with pearls was the perfect setting for the muffins that her Mamma made for the party. I also made the utensil jars with burlap and lace, and another with a doily. To see the tutorial visit this post. And how adorable are these tea plates from Amazon? They are just right for a shabby chic birthday or a tea party.

The shabby chic birthday banner was super easy to make too! The tutorial will be up on the blog soon, so come back to visit!

Happy birthday to the sweet little princess!
