Shabby Chic Jars

A sweet little princess is turning one! Little Amira is turning one and her Mom chose the adorable Shabby chic theme. I love the colors in the shabby chic theme… they are so delicate and femminine. I also love the mix of casual and “shabby” with delicate lace borders or pearl strings.

I made these adorable jars to use as utensil holders on the dessert table. They were easy to put together and I love the pretty, yet rustic look to them. Perfectly imperfect.

Begin by choosing a jar that is the right height and width to hold your utensils (or flowers, candies, etc). Cut a piece of burlap to fit in the center of the jar and all the way around it, leaving a border on the top and the bottom of the jar. Glue it to your jar carefully with a hot glue gun.

Measure your lace to go around the top and the bottom of the burlap on the jar. Glue the lace to the top of the burlap edge. Make sure to find a lace with a width the allows your burlap to show still after adding both sides of the lace border. Glue a piece of lace on the bottom border of the burlap as well.

Tie a piece of twine around the center of your jar and into a bow.

Add your utensils or whatever items you want to display at your shabby chic party! I think they are adorable for a country party or Farmhouse look as well. The pink is such a pretty contrast with the burlap and white!

Happy crafting! Let me know what you decide to fill your shabby chic jars with!
