Are you a donut fan? My daughter is the biggest donut fan…EVER!
To make these amazing donuts you will need a few basic ingredients:
Begin by preheating your oven to 350F and greasing and flouring your donut pan.
Melt butter and place in a flat dish and set aside.
Mix cinnamon and sugar together in a dish and set aside (approximately 1 cup sugar/1 tsp cinnamon).
Measure dry ingredients into bowl and whisk lightly to blend well. Add sugar and mix well.
In a separate bowl mix together your wet ingredients: butter, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk the wet ingredients until well blended.
Next add you wet ingredients to your dry ingredients and mix just until blended. Do not overmix.
Lastly, add the buttermilk and stir it into the batter. Mixing just until blended.
Fill your donut cavities approximately 3/4 of the way full. Bake at 350F for approximately 10 minutes or until golden brown (do not over-bake).
Once the donuts are baked allow them to cool slightly before removing from the donut pan.
Remove from pan while they are warm.
Dip into butter and then immediately roll them in the brown sugar. Set on wax paper or a cooling rack until you have finished coating all of the donuts.
Donuts are best when freshly baked so enjoy them right away!
If you need to bake them ahead of time, then store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Warm them a few seconds in the microwave before eating.
These donuts are easy to make, they are baked and therefore healthier than their fried counterpart and they are so delish! So enjoy a batch for your Sunday breakfast, a Mother’s Day brunch or a Baby shower.
They are a favorite with everyone and certain to satisfy!
