Cute Scarecrow Craft

Create your own adorable scarecrow craft to decorate your home this Fall season.

Supplies:

  • Wooden craft sticks
  • Glue gun or white Elmer’s glue
  • Googley eyes
  • Paint (pink, brown, black)
  • Black permanent marker
  • Felt
  • Yarn

Directions:

Place 5 wider wooden sticks or 6-7 narrow sticks in a row vertically. Lay one stick on top horizontally at a slight angle.

Glue the back of the horizontal stick and lay it across your vertical sticks. Hold in place until the glue dries.

Cut your yarn hair (you can use paper if you would prefer) into pieces approximately 1 inch length. Flip your scarecrow over and glue the pieces to the back of your scarecrow where the vertical and horizontal sticks meet (see photo).

If you want to add bangs cut tiny pieces and glue them across from one end of your horizontal stick to the other.

Now place a strip of glue across your scarecrow face on top of the yarn hair and attach a second horizontal wooden stick on top.

Cut a triangle out of brown felt and glue it to the center of your face.

Paint the top part of your vertical strips and your horizontal wooden stick brown to look like the scarecrow’s hat.

Now make your scarecrow’s mouth. I used a black permanent pen to create a dotted mouth. And a round paint brush and pink paint for her cheeks.

Last create your scarecrow’s eyes.

You can draw them on with a pen, paint them or use googley eyes! It depends on the look that you are going for.

Aren’t our scarecrow’s cute?!

Now we just need to find the perfect place to hang them up!

Happy crafting y’all and happy fall!
