Cookies n Cream Popcorn

Soccer is a really big deal here in Italy. . . I suppose like football or baseball in the USA. So when the game is on it’s all about rooting for your colors! My husband is a Rome fan. When the game is on, you need some snacks to keep everyone happy. My husband, for example, loves watching the game. And he is super into it. And happy. Until they lose. If his team loses it is no fun to be around him! Especially if it is the Italian National team. So if you have an avid fan, who really wants there team to win, then this is the perfect consolation snack if they lose and an even better celebratory snack if they win!

Cookies n Cream Popcorn is the perfect snack for Game day, sleepovers or a birthday party. It is super easy to make and so good. It is creamy and crunchy and both salty and sweet. The Oreos balance out the white chocolate to make it the perfect combo! Throw in a few M&Ms to fit your color scheme or to cheer on your team!

Start by popping your popcorn. You can use whichever method you prefer. I buy microwave popcorn that has no salt or butter. Once your popcorn is popped, now comes the tedious part. Take out all the popcorn kernels. You don’t want anyone breaking a tooth!

Begin by melting your white chocolate. You will need approximately 150 grams for 2 bags of popped popcorn. You will need approximately 1 1/2 tubes of Oreos (about 24 cookies).

Place your Oreos in a Ziplock bag. Crush your Oreos with a rolling pin. Leave some bigger chunks! Melt your white chocolate in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval. Make sure you do not microwave it too long or it will seize. Once it starts melting, just stir it vigorously to melt the rest of the chocolate. It should be smooth and liquid (as seen in photo).

Pour your white chocolate over your popped popcorn. Stir with a wooden spoon. Add your crushed Oreos and stir until each kernel is coated with white chocolate and Oreo crumbs.

Pour the popcorn out onto parchment paper and allow the white chocolate to harden. Once it has hardened, place it in an airtight bag. It will keep for around 1 week to 10 days, although it never last that long around here!!!
