Christmas Eve in Plaid

The year is coming to an end and I just love the cozy feel of buffalo plaid. It reminds me of my Grandpa and his flannel shirts he used to wear.

This year we opted for matching buffalo plaid jammies to immortalize 2020 and the year of covid spent behind a computer screen with jammie pants and a sweatshirt on top!

And it only seemed fitting for our Christmas Eve table to match!

And because it was just our little fam this Christmas Eve, we wanted to do something extra fun to celebrate! So we decked our table in buffalo plaid and had breakfast for dinner!

We had Crepes (Pannenkoeken), bacon and eggs for dinner. We put all our favorite pancake toppings in these adorable reindeer cups that we made for the occasion. And then played games until the curfew at 10 when my in-laws headed home and we snuggled down to watch the Grinch.

I love to add something special to the table. This year I made customized bookmarks for everyone to take home with them to use in their favorite read for the winter season! And customized buffalo plaid placecards as well.

What are your favorite Christmas Eve traditions?

Our favorite over the years has been making panzerotti with our best friends, but this year it was fun creating new memories and doing something special with the family.

Merry Christmas Eve from our family to yours!
