Make your own Ruby Slippers

To make your own ruby slippers:

• Red Ballerina style shoes (or another color sprayed red)
• Red glitter
• Modge Podge
• paint brushes
• Sealant spray (optional)

Begin by taping of the insides and bottoms of your shoes (the parts that you do not want to have glitter on them).

Next paint your shoes with a very smooth thin layer of Modge Podge. Sprinkle abundant fine red glitter all around your shoe, coating and covering all of the glued areas. Gently shake off excess glitter. Allow to dry completely (approximately 12 hours). Paint another layer of Modge Podge craft glue onto your shoe. Coat again with red glitter. Gently shake off excess. Allow to dry completely. To seal in your glitter use a sealant spray or coat with a last layer of Modge Podge on top and allow to dry (it will dry clear).

That’s it! Now you have adorable Ruby red slippers for your Wizard of Oz costume or party.
