Forky

Toy Story 4

You’ve got a friend in me. You got troubles and I got ’em, too. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you. We stick together, we can see it through ’cause you’ve got a friend in me.

You’ve Got a Friend in Me, Toy Story

Have you seen Toy Story 4 yet? We can’t wait to see this epic conclusion to one of my son’s favorite movie series. In fact, we watched Toy Story 2 about 200,000 times when he was little.

One of the new characters from this movie is Forky. He is a Spork who hasn’t quite accepted the fact that he is a toy and not trash. He is funny and cute and really easy to make! So we decided to make our own Forkys.

You will need:

  • Sporks or Forks with a large base. These wooden forks were easy to work with and the glue held nicely to the wood!
  • Google eyes
  • Chenille Stems
  • Foam Paper
  • Modeling Clay
  • Heavy card stock

Begin by choosing your google eyes, and gluing them in place. Forky had his face on the rounded part of the spork. We found it easier to glue things onto the flat side. Experiment and choose what works best for you!

Next twist on your arms with a chenille stem. You can use whichever color you prefer. Forky’s arms were red in the film. Shape little hands at the end if you would like. Have fun and make the arms as long or short as you would like!

Add a little button or foam bow tie with hot glue gun to hide the arms and to help them stay in place. Draw on a mouth and nose or use foam paper, buttons or stickers if you prefer. You can color his hair, or even make him look like a silly monster. Let your kids get creative. Forky is their own invention and their new friend.

Forky’s feet are held on with modeling clay! We used this modeling clay from Amazon to make our little Forky! Then just cut out and attach some feet with heavy card stock. Use heavier card stock to help him balance better on his feet.

Here are a few cute printables from a Toy Story party I made. I love the Bubble labels personally! Bubbles are such a fun and easy favor to give. If you have themed labels they are even more fun for the kids!

Enjoy Toy Story! Tell me if you liked the end to this sweet story of friendship.
