Magic Sand Recipe

Cold winter days often inspire dreams of warm sandy beaches and wishes for sunnier days! This easy recipe is a ton of fun for littles to play with and super easy to make.

To make your Magic Sand you just need a few simple supplies:

• Play sand: 3 cups
• Corn Starch: 3/4 cup
• Dish Soap: 1 tsp
• Water: 6 tablespoons

Begin by mixing your dry ingredients in a large bowl. We used this play sand from Oriental Trading Company. Stir your corn starch and play sand well with a fork or a whisk until well blended.

Set aside dry ingredients. In a water bottle mix together your dish soap and water. Shake until slightly bubbly.

Add wet ingredients to your dry ingredients and mix well.

That’s it! Super easy! Have fun and think happy thoughts of sunny beaches!

*Note: We had some problems with the coloring of the sand coming off on our hands while we were playing with it. It washed off again with dish soap and lemon, but it might be better to use plain colored sand.
