Chocolate Nutella Cookies

These cookies are soooooo good! Like too good. I already ate two! Help! They are humid and packed with flavor, but neither overly chocolately nor overly Nutella-y (which is of course a word).

They are delicious full of chocolate chips, or M&Ms, or just on their own so that you can enjoy the delicate flavor even more! We of course went with chocolate chips AND M&Ms because we LOVE chocolate!!

They are on the easier side of cookie making too! So they are doable for beginners.

Make a batch for movie night, or to bring to your next get-together, or to thank a medical worker during these crazy times! You won’t be sorry!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup Butter (room temperature)
  • 6 tablespoons Muscovado sugar
  • 6 tablespoons White granulated sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla paste
  • 3 tablespoons Nutella
  • 1 1/4 cup Flour (all purpose)
  • 1/4 cup Cacao
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder (I just use a pinch)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Cream together your Nutella and butter on high in an electric stand mixer for 2 minutes. Scrape the sides of your bowl.

Add your sugars. You will need 6 tablespoons of each sugar (to simplify measurements I usually fill a 3/4 cup 1/2 full with Muscovado and 1/2 full with white sugar). Cream with the butter for 2-4 minutes in your electric stand mixer.

Scrape your bowl and add the vanilla and egg. Beat the ingredients until well blended (Approximately 2 minutes). Scrape the bowl again.

In a separate bowl mix together your dry ingredients:

You will need to mix your all purpose flour, cacao, baking soda, salt and baking powder with a fork lightly until well blended. Add the mixture to your wet ingredients and mix just until blended.

Lastly add M&Ms or chocolate chips or both to your mixture. You will need approximately 2/3 cup of chocolate chips. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand.

Chill the dough for at least an hour or over night.

Place balls on a cookie sheet covered with a silicone mat or parchment paper and bake in the oven at 375°F for approximately 5-7 minutes.

Allow to cool before serving.

Enjoy!! And happy baking…
